I love finding fabulous resources for photography, and I was thrilled to bits to find Seniorologie, a comprehensive blog dedicated to Senior Photography. Since I'm focused on Seniors this month, especially with my recent Senior Rep Sessions I knew I had to share this awesome resource!
They feature different photographers from all around and do great interviews with them about their shooting techniques and their business practices.
They also do special features such as wardrobe ideas and "topic-specific" posts, like this great one on pricing. Since I have been shooting for about three years now and just recently started up my own solo business this summer, it's great to be able to learn from so many different photographers from all around.
I hope to see some of my images grace the Seniorologie blog soon- as a matter of fact I found this great post on submitting images that I just might follow and turn in some of my Senior Rep photos! It would be so awesome to get published!

Senior Rep Feature No. 2: Briana
I've known Briana and her family for a few years now, and I've photographed them all before, so I was so excited when she interviewed to be one of my Senior Reps. I know from experience that she is as close to "model" as you can get and I was not disappointed at her shoot. She is so tall and fit (being a cheerleader) and will mold like play dough when you tell her how to pose- it was like working with a life size barbie! I had a blast at her shoot, and can't wait for her to see all the photos at her ordering session. There are so many swoon worthy ones, it was so hard to pick which ones to showcase, but these were my favorite.
Next up is Mikala- her shoot is next week, so stay tuned for what me & my styling team create for her Senior Portraits!

Senior Rep Feature No. 1: Sam D.
I have to admit, when I was prepping for Sam's shoot I was really focused on how I should direct her to pose and look natural in pictures. She is the "sporty" one after all- rarely wears makeup, almost always dresses in gym clothes, has her hair in a ponytail, and can almost always be seen with a soccer ball in her hand. She is already slated to play soccer at NAU next year, so she's just about as athletic as they come. I figured that a girl that doesn't get dolled up all that often would probably be uncomfortable and maybe a little awkward being photographed, so I was prepared to really work with her to bring out her inner model. I have never been so wrong in my life.
This girl BROUGHT IT. After 5 minutes of shooting I was flipping out inside and trying to stay cool on the outside because I couldn't believe how amazing she looked. Just quick, one word directions was all I gave her and she ran with it. And man, those eyes. I know it's hard to believe, but I did not post process her eyes to pop like that. When I adjusted the light in the images, that is the way they turned out. They are popping like it's hot right about now.
It was so hot, but she was so sweet and tolerant and tried things that I suggested even when they sounded ridiculous. Leah did an incredible job on her hair and makeup- so natural but still dramatic enough to make her features stand out in photos. Also, I love her blue streak that peeks out from the back that Leah did for her.
I have the next Senior Rep shoot this week, and I can't wait to see what we come up with for the other girls!

Senior Portrait Wardrobe Ideas with Lindsey Taylor
One of the most common questions I get asked when I book a Senior Portrait session is "So...what do I wear?" Our fab personal fashion stylist, Lindsey has put together a few killer outfits for those girls who love the natural style. If you're unsure about what your personal style is, Lindsey can email you a questionnaire to narrow down the fashion styles you are drawn to and that fit your own lifestyle!

Introducing The Class of 2013 Senior Reps
Wahoo! It's time to announce my Senior Reps for 2013! I'm beyond excited to work with all these amazing girls, and create incredible photos plus unforgettable experiences with them. I love that they are all so different and unique {in their style questionnaires, they each selected a different signature style- one sporty, one romantic, one natural, and one dramatic!} and I can't wait to create custom portrait sessions to compliment their styles.
